The festival of the dead is one of the traditional festivals in Mexico. It is held from October 31 to November 2 every year. Its purpose is to mourn for the dead people. This festival likes the Bon in Japan. It is needless to say, the main part is the dead. Therefore, a city is full of skeletons, or gaikotsu in Japanese. There are skeleton objects or goods in everywhere of the city.
We can see a fancy dress parade on the road. The most popular disguise is to dress a man up as a woman. We can enjoy only watching the parade, but also listening to brass band music. Entire the city become lively. At night, every grave is decorated with many candles and flowers. It does not seem it is graveyard. The people sing and drink there. Their children dress up as Dracula, bones and so on. This custom likes Halloween in America. Finally, we can see fireworks at beside church. It represents the end of the festival.
